Web Development
When not focusing on product management I also like to fiddle around with web development. These are a few of the sites I have built and managed.
Escape The Shell
Initially the content on this site was a section of this website, but over time it became clear that my travel content deserved much more attention. Building a travel site is the easy part, the hard part is keeping it updated.
Seasons Of War - strategy game
This is a web based strategy game inspired by the board game Risk, but with numerous differences that make it completely unique. Game play is turn based so you can play when it's convenient for you. It's a fun social game with integration into Facebook, and it continues to evolve.
As part of the learning process some projects never quite take off. Some of the sites in my personal deadpool include:
44th Family
Meant to be a gossip and video site about the Obama family. Getting the video section working was a fun learning experience, but it never really took off.
Lugha - Lugha means "speak" in Arabic. I created this site as a place for Arabic language students to exchange information while I was studying in Egypt. It is still a resource for a number of students but deserves some updating and a bit of evangelism to take it off the deadpool list.
Travel
Work and travel could just about sum up my life for the past 10 years. As mentioned above, all the details are on my travel site Escape The Shell.
Business in the emerging market of Malaysia
I am currently working on two projects in Malaysia in the real estate sector. The first is available for a short-term or long-term rental. If you know anyone working in Penang who needs a nice clean place to stay for a few weeks or months, you can review the online flyer. There is another project that is just getting started and I plan to share much much more about it in the following months. I don't want to say too much yet, but I am very excited about it.
